In order to prevent unauthorized access to the wireless network at our university, ensure network security, and fulfill our obligations under Law No. 5651, the “Authentication System” has been implemented. This system allows you to connect to the internet via the campus wireless network by entering your university email account username and password.
-
No internet application will function without connecting to the Wireless Network Authentication System. Apart from accessing web pages, applications that require internet access such as Windows Update, antivirus updates, and programs like MSN, FTP, etc. will not work unless authentication is completed.
-
In order for such programs to function and to establish an internet connection, a web browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome, etc.) must first be opened and the authentication process must be completed successfully.
-
When a web browser is opened on a wireless connection, a certificate warning will appear before reaching the authentication screen. To ensure that the email password is transmitted securely, you may proceed by accepting the certificate or install it. For certificate installation instructions, please click here.
-
If you install the certificate on your computer once, you will be able to connect to the system without receiving further security warnings.
-
On the Authentication System login screen, enter the part of your email address before @bogazici.edu.tr as the username. (For example, if your email address is abcdef@bogazici.edu.tr, your username should be entered as abcdef.) Enter your email password as the password.
-
Wireless network users are deemed to have accepted the Boğaziçi University Boun-Net Terms of Use and Implementation Principles. To view the Boun-Net Terms of Use and Implementation Principles, please click here.

For communication regarding this matter, you may use the email address wireless@bogazici.edu.tr.
