System and Network Management Branch Directorate
The System and Network Management Branch Directorate is responsible for ensuring the secure, sustainable, and uninterrupted operation of the University’s information technology infrastructure. Within this scope, its duties and responsibilities are listed below:
- To establish the required IT infrastructure for users and ensure its continuity.
- To manage databases and system servers.
- To operate backup systems and carry out backup operations.
- To implement user authentication processes and security policies.
- To manage defined firewall policies.
- To manage IPS/IDS systems and prevent attacks targeting networks and servers.
- To manage e-mail systems, spam filtering, and phishing prevention infrastructures.
- To create e-mail accounts and manage groups and distribution lists.
- To provide web hosting services for users and manage FTP accounts.
- To perform domain name system (DNS) management.
- To plan, establish, and maintain wired and wireless campus network infrastructure.
- To identify active and passive network devices and ensure their integration.
- To establish the required hardware and software infrastructure for centralized network management.
- To monitor internet traffic, perform performance analyses, and prepare reports.
- To establish internet and network connections for newly established units.
- To configure switches, routers, VLANs, and IP addressing.
- To inform personnel and users through in-service training activities.
- To follow emerging technologies and carry out infrastructure development activities.
- To create documentation and management processes in accordance with IT standards.
- To perform other duties assigned within the framework of applicable legislation.
