How Can I Check My Email Account Quota?: You can view your account quota by logging in with your username and password to https://mail.bogazici.edu.tr and accessing the "Account Quota" section.

I Forgot My Email Password

Password Reset via the Account Management System

In order to reset your password via the Account Management System (https://mail.bogazici.edu.tr), you must have an alternative email address or a mobile phone number registered in the system. If this information is available, you can reset your password by entering your username and receiving a reset link via SMS or email.

Password Reset via IT Services

For password changes, staff members must visit the IT Services Labs (South or North Campus) with their personnel ID, and students with their student ID, to receive a new password.

Defining / Updating Email or Mobile Phone Information for Password Reset

On the Account Management System page (https://mail.bogazici.edu.tr), you can log in with your username and password and define or update your alternative email address and mobile phone number under the "Information Update" section for password recovery purposes.

I Am Experiencing Issues Sending and Receiving Emails in Outlook

Check by selecting the "Send/Receive" menu.
Check your network connection.
Log in to bumail.bogazici.edu.tr to check the status of your mailbox and verify sending and receiving operations.
If you are unable to log in to bumail.bogazici.edu.tr, your password may be entered incorrectly or may have been reset.
If your email account is also configured on another device or email client, sign out of that device or application. If the issue is resolved, ensure that both clients are properly configured to work together.

The Initial Startup Text Displays Correctly, but the Screen Becomes Distorted Afterwards

Restart Windows in Safe Mode.
If the issue is resolved, update the graphics processor (GPU) driver.
If the issue persists, there may be a problem with the graphics processor. Check it in the “Device Manager”.

Display Distortion Occurs Inconsistently, Including During Initial Startup Text, With No Consistent Pattern or Timing: The graphics processor or the motherboard may be faulty.

The Display Appears Normal, but the Entire Screen Is Dominated by a Yellow, Green, Red, Blue, or Another Color Tint: Check the connections and physical condition of the display cables.

The Desktop Display Is Normal, but Pages Opened in a Specific Application Show Garbled or Unusual Characters: Change the language encoding settings within the application.

Screen flickering occurs only when a print job is sent to the printer.: Change the electrical power connection of the printer.

Unwanted pop-up windows appear on the screen, or images on some web pages are displayed incorrectly.

The computer should be scanned and cleaned for malware. Browser homepage settings should be checked, and unwanted search providers and extensions should be removed or disabled.
If unwanted images, advertisements, or similar content appear only on a specific website, these may be advertisements placed on that site. Depending on how disturbing they are, whether user control is allowed, and how easily they can be avoided, the site may be avoided or tolerated.

I am unable to log in to the iştakip system

You may not have an access permission: To log in to the İşTakip system, you must be an academic or administrative staff member of Boğaziçi University.

If you meet the relevant criteria and are still unable to log in, you may submit an access request to the İşTakip system through your department secretary.

Your Password may be incorrect: Please log in to your BU email account via bumail.bogazici.edu.tr to verify that your password is correct.

Your password must not contain Turkish characters or special characters. If your password was created in this way, you should set a new password via mail.bogazici.edu.tr.

How Can I Have Business Cards Printed?

The Business Card System is an online system used to organize the business card printing process for the University’s academic and administrative staff by allowing users to enter their own information.

The Business Card System is opened for user access at the beginning of each academic term. The opening and closing dates are announced to users via an official announcement.
After completing the information entry, the system allows users to preview their business cards before printing. The entered information and its appearance should be carefully reviewed by the user. Each user is responsible for the accuracy of the information they have entered.
Once system access is closed, the names of users who have requested business cards are published on a web page announced to users.
After the information entry process is completed, the business cards are sent to the printing house. Following the printing process, distribution is carried out by the Public Relations Office.

I am experiencing an issue with the Windows operating system.

I am experiencing an issue with Microsoft product activation.

I am having trouble running the activation programs.

Try activating via the command line by following the steps in the PDF file published for the software package at https://lisans.bogazici.edu.tr.

When I run the activation programs, it says that another component needs to be installed.

Allow the installation of the required component, complete the installation, and then run the activation program again.

I receive an error during component installation while activating.

Download the required package from the official Microsoft website, install it manually, and try the activation again.

I receive an error when trying to activate via the activation programs or the command line.

Make sure that Windows or Office was installed using the packages downloaded from https://lisans.bogazici.edu.tr.

An error occurs during component installation.: After installing the remaining updates using Windows Update, please try again.

I am experiencing an issue with printer usage.

I want to set up and use this computer for the first time.: A driver is available for my operating system.

If the installation will be done over the network, ensure the printer is connected to power and the network, turned on, stable, shows no warnings on the control panel, and has a valid IP address. Note the IP address. After completing any necessary saving operations, close all open programs and restart the computer. Without running any other programs, start the driver installation software and, when prompted, enter the IP address to identify the printer and complete the installation.

No driver is available for my operating system.

If the printer is old and the computer is new, a newer printer should be used.
If the printer is new but the computer’s operating system is outdated, the computer’s OS can be upgraded.
If both the printer and the computer’s OS are new, wait for the manufacturer to release a compatible driver, or switch to another compatible printer.

- Check the printer for warnings and cable connections. Try printing again.
- Turn off the printer using its power button, wait about 5 minutes, then turn it on again.
- If applicable, ensure the computer is free from malware.

Printer connected via USB to another computer

Host computer can print
- Check the network connection on both computers.
- Ensure the printer is still shared on the host computer.
Host computer also cannot print
- Check the physical condition of the USB cable. Try another cable.
- Verify printer warnings and cable connections.
