The System and Network Management Branch Directorate is the technical unit responsible for managing, developing, and maintaining the university’s entire system, server, e-mail, security, network, and internet infrastructure. Installation, management, and continuity of system servers and databases.
Backup Systems
Establishment of backup infrastructure and management of backup operations.
Authentication & Policies
Implementation of user authentication mechanisms and defined security policies.
Firewall Management
Implementation of firewall policies and ensuring system security.
Intrusion Detection & Prevention
Management of IDS/IPS systems and protection against cyber attacks.
E-mail Systems
Management of e-mail infrastructure, gateways, spam filtering, and antivirus systems.
E-mail Accounts & Lists
Creation and management of user e-mail accounts, groups, and distribution lists.
Web Hosting & FTP
Providing web hosting services to units and managing FTP accounts.
Domain Name (DNS) Management
Creation and management of domain names and DNS records.
Network Management
Network Infrastructure Planning
Planning and deployment of wired and wireless campus network topology.
Active & Passive Devices
Selection, installation, and integration of network devices with new services.
Centralized Network Management
Establishment of centralized network management infrastructure and software updates.
Traffic & Performance Monitoring
Monitoring, analysis, and reporting of internet traffic and performance.
Unit Network Connections
Providing network and internet connectivity for new and existing units.
Business Continuity
Ensuring uninterrupted network access and responding to network failures.
IP & VLAN Management
IP address planning and VLAN configuration management.
Training & Documentation
Providing periodic training and preparing documentation for users and staff.
Emerging Technologies
Researching new network technologies and integrating them into the infrastructure.
